The train, loaded with frozen meat and bacon, departed Zhengzhou International Land Port bound for Vientiane, Laos. It is the first time Henan has used a cold-chain block train to send locally deep-processed meat products into the ASEAN market. The consignment travelled under constant refrigeration with full temperature traceability across thousands of kilometres.

The service marks a breakthrough for Zhengzhou International Land Port in ASEAN cold-chain transport and reflects a shift from exporting primary produce such as garlic and carrots to higher-value finished goods. Operators plan to make the ASEAN-bound cold-chain block train a regular, scaled service.

For equipment suppliers, a growing, routinised ASEAN cold-chain corridor raises steady demand for refrigerated transport assets — including refrigerated trucks and multi-temperature units — serving cross-border distribution, urban cold-chain delivery and pharma cold chain across Southeast Asia.
